About

The Fangirl:

Name: Kelsey
Level 26
Unnatural redhead, feminist, introvert, Hufflepuff, adventurer, demon hunter, vampire slayer, browncoat, rebel, companion, command class, Disney Princess, plant mom, nerdfighter, and dragon slayer. I'm short for a Stormtrooper at 4'10", hence my social media handle @craftylilgeek. As you might guess, I take a lot of pride in being a geek. It hasn't always been that way, and has taken years for me to be able to fully express my fandoms in most aspects of my life. These days you will usually find me wearing a mix of jewelry, t-shirts, and accessories that show off my favorite things.

I began my blogging journey back in 2011, but for a completely different reason. Many things have happened since then that have changed and shaped who I am as a person. Thanks to groups like Nerdfighters and Female Geek Bloggers I was able to feel more open with sharing who I was, which left me conflicted. I felt like my previous blog, April Sprinkles, constrained me, and held me back from my full potential. That is when I set a course for self-discovery that would eventually lead me to the blog name I was seeking. Much like the the Doctor, my blog was regenerated, this time giving me more room to express myself. With it, I will share many of my original projects/tutorials that I had previously only been sharing on Instagram, as well as covering geeky events in the Seattle area, and talk about current happenings in TV and movies. I will also be showcasing other awesome fangirl crafters you should know and their projects.

The Fandoms:

(In no particular order) Star Wars, Futurama, LOTR/Hobbit, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Disney, Supernatural, Game of Thrones, Star Trek, Jurassic Park, X-Files, Firefly, Marvel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, True Blood, The Walking Dead, Once Upon A Time, Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, the Elder Scrolls, Psych, Sherlock, iZombie, Parks & Rec, Agent Carter, Shannara Chronicles, Twin Peaks, Inuyasha, Jane Austen, Tsum Tsums.... and more! I feel like I'm name-dropping, but this is the kind of content you should expect to see from me in the future.

Also I wrote a song about it, I hope that's okay:

"Look at these ships, aren't they neat?
Wouldn't you think my headcannon's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
the girl who has, an OTP?"

yadda yadda yadda... "I WANT MOAR"
I think that's how it goes.

Have I lost you yet? Hang on because this next part is a lot more normal, I promise!

The Crafts:

I've been making things pretty much my whole life. About 10 years ago is when I first learned to crochet and knit. (And yes, there is a difference.) From the very beginning I was HOOKED. (Pun intended.) As I learned more and practiced, my skills continued to improve to the point where I could play around with expert and advance patterns and even create a few of my own. Another hobby that has stuck with me even longer than that has been jewelry making. I love being able to craft new and different styles that aren't available anywhere else. Recently I have taken up polymer clay as another craft hobby which has opened up even more ways to express myself and my fandoms.

I find that when it comes to crafting, not much is out of my reach. I am willing to try anything at least once, no matter the difficulty. How I level up my crafting skills is a lot like how I play video games. I like to be generally good at most things, but when it comes to crafts that I really like, I'll pursue them until I reach master status. If that was too geeky for you, you may want to move along... these aren't the droids you're looking for.

Just kidding! Everyone is welcome here, as long as you aren't a jerk. Your feels and ships are safe with me. Unless you ship my NOTP then we will definitely have words! Like "How dare" and "WHY'
Kidding!
(Mostly)

With all that being said, here is my Fangirl Crafter pledge:
